This training is a thorough exploration of the Katonah Yoga material focusing heavily on practical ways to infuse the practice into your life and current teaching style. The training is designed for everyone, whether you are a teacher or not. It is recommended to have a fundamental yoga practice and to be prepared for learning and receiving adjustments.
Alex is a NYC based Katonah Yoga teacher and founder of Tenon Movement, a digital yoga studio and movement platform. Her number one priority is to make everyone feel welcome in class, unintimidated by Katonah Yoga theory, and to develop a sense of joyous curiosity that occurs in the unique container of a training and helps each student thrive.
What to expect in this training:
-Understand the maps and esoteric theory that makes this practice sparkle.
-Ground your understanding of the maps, geometry, sequencing, and adjustments so that you can integrate it all into your current yoga practice and teaching
-Demystify the aspects of Katonah Yoga that feel unapproachable
-Expose yourself to the life/practice intersection which helps clarify the Why of it all
-Leave with a recipe for a home practice
-Inspire your current teaching and practice (no matter the style) with Katonah Yoga theory and asana
-Overlay maps (like the Body As A House, Magic Square, and Body As A Vehicle) to orient yourself in time and space
