Somehow we find ourselves in July, the height of Summer, the ‘Summer of Summer’ in Chinese Medicine. A brief respite from the heatwave last week, but high temps on their way again. How are we all coping?

Summer is associated with the Fire element, governed by the heart, and linked to joy, connection, and being fully alive in our bodies. It's a season that asks us to move with intensity, to let ourselves feel more, and to come together rather than retreat inward, and that’s exactly how we plan to move this month!

Leading the way is House of Heat Volume 2, landing on Basic Space at Home on 13th July. Ten days of yoga, pilates, and barre, and quite honestly some of the toughest classes we've ever put on the platform, harder than most of our studio classes, and built to match the intensity of the season. Mark the date, clear some space in your week, make sure you’re subscribed [it’s FREE for members] and get ready to bring the heat.

In studio, we're also stretching things out with a few extended practices this month to get us moving longer, together, in community. If there is one class not to miss this month it is our 90 minute Katonah practice with Abbie Galvin on the 24th July [IYKYK]. Abby is INCREDIBLE, and this class will be informative, communal — you'll be practice facing one another, learning from one another. It’s vibrant, full of useful metaphor and will really open your mind. Highly recommend advanced booking for this.

We'd love to have you with us this month, whether that's on your mat at home, in the studio, or a bit of both. Let's turn up the heat together.

DOING:
Acupuncture! We recently visited Julia at her acupuncture clinic in Clapham for a treatment and wanted to share it with you.

The session is tailored to what you’re dealing with at the time, rather than a fixed routine, acupuncture is often used to support stress, muscular tension, low energy and general wellbeing. It can also be supportive for women’s health concerns, including cycle-related symptoms, hormonal changes and overall regulation of the body.

Julia has kindly offered our community 50% off your first treatment (£30), which feels like a good opportunity if you’ve been curious to try it.
