Space to pause.

[to welcome the shift in seasons]

With the busyness summer often brings, we can sometimes forget to pause and take it all in. This retreat is a chance for you to withdraw a little. To slow down, and let your nervous system re-calibrate after a busy season. Autumn is near, and so, we need to shift down gear. This retreat is an opportunity to step back from the to-dos of daily life and allow your mind and body to unwind. We'll be immersing ourselves in an environment where the pace is gentler, where time stretches, and the focus is on reconnecting with ourselves.

A sanctuary where time slows down, and the essence of a simpler, more profound existence awaits.

Your Instructors:

  • Jaime is the Founder of Basic Space and The Yoga Library. With 8 years and 3000+ hours of experience teaching, Jaime has developed the knowledge and confidence to create and lead beautiful, well-designed classes and retreats. Always set to a consciously curated, ‘groovy’ playlist, Jaime’s classes combine fluid movement with static core-driven holds. She teaches an open-level class, welcoming beginners whilst offering an extra hand if needed, and suggesting adaptations as well as inversions for more advanced students should they wish to explore further. Her classes explore the line between effort and ease. Jaime teaches based on feel - drawing from energy, beings, seasons… She’s influenced by many different modalities of yoga and movement. Jaime quite literally ‘goes with the flow’. She encourages self-exploration and self-guidance on the mat.

  • Jess’ classes have a strong emphasis on balance, both physically and mentally. Jess encourages you to find strength in stillness and to grasp the lightness when it gets a little tough. A slow[ish] Vinyasa practice, you'll move around the mat with creative, playful transitions that really keep your focus in check, weaved together with a playlist created to keep your vibe high when it gets a little sticky, and then mellow yourself back down.

Jess invites you to not rush, when we slow down we feel it all so much more, so take your time. Dig a little deeper and see what you find.

  • Tamara’s yoga classes are a balance of strength and release, with an emphasis on bringing you into a deep state of calm and grounding. Her passion for movement flows through her teaching, where she guides creative, breath-focused embodied movement, for the practitioner to explore what they need to nurture themselves in their practice. An open and all-level space for people to be playful and come to yoga to find freedom of movement in breath and body.

Through teaching for the past 7 years, Tamara has been developing her own practice and methodology, where she has discovered both fundamental and expressive ways in moving the body. Her teaching aims to build and enable people to explore and connect back into their bodies, and the ability to feel through movement. For her, this practice is the freedom of movement, exploration, and expression into oneself.

Food:

Our chef for this retreat is Peckham native Woody Pyke, founder of Shoots and Leaves . With a deep reverence for the rhythm of nature, Woody crafts organic menus that dance in harmony with the ever-changing seasons of fruits and vegetables. Woody takes pride in his commitment to crafting each dish from scratch, and his ingredients are handpicked from local sources whenever possible. He creates dishes that will both delight and nourish, regardless of dietary requirements.

Think farm-to-table fresh, and served family-style. Meals will be heavily veg-centric, with options like eggs, and cheese, with the potential for meat, and fish, provided it’s local and fresh. We feel strongly about creating a supportive, judgment-free environment so all food choices will be welcomed and respected. You can let us know more about your dietary requirements when you book.
